Sources Of Used Vinyl Records
If you are a collector then you know that sometimes it can be very difficult to come up with all of the pieces for your collection that you want. Whether your collection is shot glasses, stamps, china dishes or vinyl records there are plenty of sources you can use to increase your collection without spending an arm and a leg. To help decrease your costs associated with the collection it is possible to think creatively to locate the used vinyl records that you are looking for. First, check with your parents. Often parents will have old used vinyl records from when they were much younger around the house somewhere. This is one of the best options you have for acquiring the albums at a very reasonable rate. This is especially true since most parents are willing to give the old used vinyl records to their children. Many parents also have very diverse collections that have used vinyl records.
Another option that you have for finding used vinyl records is eBay. This is the world wide garage sale as well as unique item mall. If it exists in the world, chances are pretty good that it is on eBay just waiting on you to bid. Search around and you can find some great deals, especially if you are willing to buy large quantities at a time because your per piece price will be much lower making your overall collection much more affordable. Just be very careful to check the feedback of the seller before buying to ensure that they are a good, honest, and reputable seller. Creative options that you can look at as well include asking your family. While your parents should be your first choice of family to ask as previously mentioned, you should consider asking other family members as well. This would allow used vinyl albums to remain in the family, while still being able to expand your collection. This method is also great because many times you will find used vinyl albums that were not easily available and have been forgotten about. Another option that you can pursue is looking on the internet for stores specializing in used vinyl records. This would allow you to find a store close to your area, or offering many of the records that you are interested in at a price you are willing to pay without breaking the budget. If you look carefully, there are sometimes stores available to you that will not charge sales tax, which is often a huge bonus, especially if they combine shipping as well. Your last major option is to look around at either used music stores, or flea markets in your quest. Often major flea markets will have a vendor who sets up almost all the time with collections of music. These are usually a great source for a continuous supply of new used vinyl records for your collection. Because they are trying to make a profit as a business venture, the albums are usually not as cheap but they are easy to find and if the album is damaged can usually be exchanged without too many problems. |
